• Shopping with ease

The highstreet is the perfect place to look if you wish to fill a variety of shopping needs!

Maybe you need a new dress, a new pair of shoes, a cute clutch or a statement jacket. Whatever you require, you can guarantee a trip the highstreet will allow you to invest in all of the above and more.

But what if you are too busy with work, away at the weekend or have a house load of kids to look after? Many, if not all of these things will prevent you from buying a new outfit or quite simply a few essentials.

Thankfully there is another way to get your hands on an array of highstrret clobber! The World Wide Web is in fact the answer to the above qualm, not only is it accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week, it also houses a lot more choice than the actual store.

Some highstreet chains are in fact closing a few of their land-based store down in order to make way for a whole generation of online stores. This is in response to the demand from today’s generation.

It is quite simply easier to shop online if you are a career woman or man for that matter. Entering the busy highstreet will be the last thing on the minds of those that work all hours.

It just isn’t feasible, shopping online is an easy way to get what you want, when you want! It is a great way to invest in gifts for both your loved ones and yourself! No longer do you have to beat the 5.30 curfew in order to buy that much-loved dress, nor do you have to fight your way through a shop load of fashion hungry woman.

Most shops these days also have an online option, check in store for more details.

  • It’s springtime with a retro twist

There need be no rules about mixing any shades or colours this Spring, soft or strong the modern bombshell makes her own rules up.  Polly Osmond, the L’Oreal Paris make-up director says she loves working with unexpected combinations.  So try not to be frightened to combine vivid colours and bright tones.  There’s a twist to this spring look, a touch of Marilyn Monroe with a youthful starlet sheek.  Try to soften the strong red lips by using a soft liner then colour with Rouge Caresse in Impulsive Fuchia, which is priced at £7.99 and can be sourced at the make-up counter L’Oreal Paris. It glides across plump lips creating a splash of strong colour.  Keep that retro look going by using Uemura

Artliner, which is priced at £20 from the website lancombe.co.uk.  By drawing a line from the corner of your eye to the centre of the lashes will elongate your eye shape. Next be bold and mix the colours on your nails with an aqua shade by Colour Riche Nails in Perle de Jade, which can be bought for £4.99 from L’Oreal Paris.

Blue and green should never be seen no longer as a problem in today’s makeup trends.  Try brushing on a Pressed Shadow in Light Green520, which can be bought for £15 from the make-up brand Shu Uemura.

Line the lower lid with a Colour Infallible Eyeshadow in Blue Curacao £6.99. Now for that twist use Rouge Pur Couture in Le Orange, which is £22.50 from Yves St Laurent, this can be used to attract some real attention.

Make-up is a great tool to many girls.  It can work in many wondrous ways and can take a simple daytime look and turn it into an over-the-top and exaggerated evening look.  Don’t be afraid to experiment and get trying a few looks you would never have thought of trying before!

Make-up is a great way to change your look, however the products can sometimes be a little expensive!  Buying them online is a great way to save a little money as they often have more featured special offers than the shops do!

    Glam happenings

Read on to get up to speed with this month’s must-have beauty buys!

First up, it’s Code for cool.  We can’t wait to get our hands on Code’s latest collection.  One of our favourite pieces comes in the shape of a sheer salmon coloured shirt worn over a simply black vest.  The shirt can be snapped up for £150 and the vest is priced at £85.

Team the look with a pair of super stylish grey jeans and you are ready to take on the fashion world.  The jeans can be picked up for a price of £195.

Every pair of jeans needs a belt and the leather black number is on our fashion wish list this season, priced at £65.

Going nude is also another style we love this season.  If you prefer subtle eye make-up, this is definitely for you!  The Bobbi Brown Ultra Nude Palette is a great investment for those who love to cavort the daytime look.  Priced at a total of £39, it features six of Bobbi’s classic shades.  To take the look from day to night, simply pair with a neon lip hue.

Bunny Love is next up!  We all love the infamous fashion blogger Fifi Lapin, who has teamed up with Juicy Couture in order to produce a limited edition capsule collection.  These come in the shape of one off gifts, notebooks, charm necklaces and adorable silk scarf!  The scarf can be snapped up for a price of £60.

Pretty pieces are always on a girl’s wish list.  Think boho chic and invest in a delicate necklace from ChloBo jewellery.  The jewellery range has been inspired by Balinese culture.  One of our favourite pieces is the outcome from the brand’s collaboration with Olivia Rubin, which incorporates the designer’s signature prints in the charms.  We want!

    The catwalk collection

The catwalks have been in full flow this season and an array of attire has been introduced to both the front row and the rest of the world!

Those that take their fashion seriously will already know that they must begin to invest in a few new pieces!  It is after all the only polite way to welcome in the winter season!

Winter fashions are a must when the weather starts to turn a little cooler!  This by no means should make you abandon your entire summer wardrobe!

A few simple tweaks such as adding a pair of thick wool tights to a summer dress and finishing the look with distressed ankle boots or fur enthused boots and of course the infamous thick knit cardigan!

Just as dresses can be converted into winter pieces so can shorts!  Layering is key in this and shorts should be worn over tights and with boots.

    Order now!

Texture is a must on this season’s fashion agenda and it is one style that is set to stay popular right through the autumn and winter months, so why not invest in it now?

If you see something you like that you know is going to stay in style over the winter months, then buying it now will in fact allow you to wear it more!

Waiting until a later date could only mean that you may lose the item to another budding stylish fashionista!

Texture is certainly big this season and can be both dressed up and dressed down!  Think of adding a manish edge to an otherwise girly attire in the shape of a ruffled dress with a shrunken blazer.  Such an extra will toughen up the look and in turn stop it from looking too girly and feminine!

Team with a pair of chunky heels in the shape of ankle length booties.

Berry hues are also a great option this season and really work to make a look pop with a series of warmer tones.  These such hues also tend to go with everything so anything offering this will turn into your most versatile piece.

Add a scarf to a daytime look and heels and a shawl for an evening attire.

Scarves and beanies are a great way to dress down an outfit and make it a little more grungy and retro!  Think Doc Martins, a retro band tee, a longer length maxi skirt and a beanie.  You will have the daytime grunge glamour nailed!

Top 5 biggest chains of high street clothes stores

When asked who our top five biggest chains of high street clothing were we came up with our list pretty fast. We simply thought about the places we frequent the most, that are the most popular and other things such as value for money and range of style.

First on our list, the clothing giant now taking the rest of the world by storm and even spotted on A-list celebrities is:

TOPSHOP – Our leading high street retailer is Topshop, they lead the way in affordable, gorgeous fashion that can be relied upon to be made well and look good. Our only criticism of Topshop is that the sizing can be quite small, but that is often the case for other similar chains. Topshop is funky fresh and always has the best collections in store and online.

H&M – We chose H&M for their sheer brilliance at providing clothing on a budget. H&M has some unbelievably cheap items that often mimic more expensive versions in higher end stores. They do have more expensive and better quality lines and they are just as good. H&M is a firm favourite of girls everywhere.

MISS SELFRIDGE – Much like Topshop, we believe Miss Selfridge to be one of the high street leaders. Their clothes are again beautifully made and always look stunning. There is always a huge range to choose from be it petites, tall or maternity and their going out wear is outstanding.

PRIMARK – The beloved budget store, Primark had to be feature on our list as it is such a lifesaver when it comes to needing a quick fix when funds are low. What we love about Primark is that they have begun to have some really lovely pricier items (although still cheaper than elsewhere) and we genuinely do like a lot of the clothing they sell.

ZARA – Our last but not least choice was Zara, we love this international brand because its casual wear and basics range are as luscious as their smart, European, sleek anc chic daywear. We adore the bright colours, the continental look and if it’s good enough for the Middletons, it’s good enough for us.
